Agencies like MOKA have a huge responsibility to their various stakeholders to make most efficient use of the dollars they receive to provide services. Stakeholders in this sense include, of course, consumers, their parents, guardians, funders and last but not least the community of tax payers who support indirectly our programs.
Our primary objective in measuring outcomes can be answered in three questions:
- Are people actually improving (or are their lives improving) as a result of the work we do? In other words, are we being effective?
- Are we doing this work in a cost effective way? Or stated another way, are we using our resources in a cost efficient way?
- Are the various stakeholders enthusiastic or satisfied with the work we do?
Over the course of each year we are constantly checking our quality as an agency by looking at these outcomes and asking these three questions. I think you will find that the results bear us out--that our services are both effective and efficient and our various constituencies are very happy with our work.
