Turn your compassion into action with the MOKA Foundation on April 17, 2025
We are excited to gather with community members, leaders in smart technology, and disability advocates to raise funds for our Smart Home Pilot Project at the Bissell Tree House on April 17, 2025 from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
This project aims to transform select residences into “smart homes.” These homes are equipped with various forms of adaptive and enabling technology that support a more independent and autonomous living environment for residents. With this initiative, we hope to bring about a monumental change, not only in the lives of those who reside with MOKA, but for the thousands of Michiganders who would benefit from this model of care.
Event Details
Doors will open at 6pm for happy/social hour, with dinner service beginning at at 6:45 and a program to follow.
Vegetarian, vegan, nut free, and gluten free dietary needs can be accommodated. Please ensure you note this when purchasing your ticket.
You can expect to see guests in attire that varies from casual to semi formal. Please attend in whatever you are most comfortable in! This event will be held primarily indoors but the venue includes a beautiful wrap around porch for your enjoyment so please dress for the MI weather.
A raffle and silent auction will be the main avenues for fundraising and will run from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Parking at John Ball Zoo is free, with use of the Funicular for guests the full duration of the event. Dropoff at the doors of the Bissell Tree House is available to anyone with mobility needs. Please reach out to sbrigham@moka.org prior to the event for details regarding drop off directly at the Tree House.
How are we fundraising?
Your attendance is vital to the success of our event – but we want you to have to have fun and win big while your generosity supports our Smart Home Pilot! A raffle and silent auction will run simultaneously from 6:00pm – 8:00pm the evening of the event.
This raffle will be held with traditional tickets that can be purchased using credit card, cash, check, ACH, or Google Pay.
We have a variety of exciting prizes including but not limited to:
- European vacations with 4+ star accommodations! (to be used within three years, no blackout dates, four packages available)
- Spa Pampering Package
- Trail Ride or horse back riding lesson (for three) at The Barn for Equine Learning
